Dr. Alex Radu, DMD

Dr. Alex Radu was introduced to dentistry during a volunteer trip to Paraguay in his senior year of high school. While his class helped construct a school house, a group of dentists from Vancouver held a free clinic for the local people. This experience left an impression on him, helping him decide to pursue a career in dentistry later on.

While in dental school at the University of British Columbia, he maintained an interest in volunteering. He volunteered both locally and on an international scale. Between the summer of third and fourth year, Alex was on a team of students and dentists which provided free dental services to a community in remote Kenya. He found this experience incredibly gratifying and inspired him to continue to give back.

Dr. Radu enjoys interacting with his patients and believes that a visit to the dentist doesn’t have to be stressful. He is eager to meet the community and help answer any questions they may have regarding their oral health. Feel free to drop by and say hello!

Outside of work, Alex is an avid biker, hiker and skier. A couple of years ago, he completed the West Coast Trail on Vancouver Island and has plans for more treks in the future.

Tips for a Healthy Smile from the Alaska Avenue Dental Team

Testimonials, Alaska Avenue Dental, Fort St. John, BC

  • Sugar plays a big role in the development of cavities. Avoid foods with 'hidden' sugars, like crackers, processed food, and milk. Brushing twice daily, swishing with water or chewing sugarless gum after meals can reduce the harmful of effect sugar on your teeth.
